About sheri davis, licsw, lcsw

You don’t have to carry this all on your own.

I’m a Seattle-based therapist who specializes in life and family transition counseling for divorced parents. I provide individual therapy online across Washington State, New York and Texas.

Sheri Davis

please Hear me when I say:

You are still a family.

You and your family are not broken.

I have been there and understand what you are going through. Seeking help doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you’re strong and resilient. Sure, there are tough days but you can choose how you want to respond to the curveballs life is throwing at you. Your family is beautiful even if it looks different than how you imagined it on your wedding day.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

How I work

At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that people have the capacity to heal and grow.

I work with people through a trauma-informed lens and help clients learn to ask themselves ‘what happened to me’ instead of ‘what’s wrong with me.’ I teach people the importance of slowing down when they feel emotionally overwhelmed so they can listen to their body and be gentle with themselves. I believe that practicing self compassion is essential to navigate the in between space of transitions.

Treatment modalities I use:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy

  • Mindfulness-based Interventions

  • Psychoeducation

  • Narrative therapy

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy

Therapy with me is…

  • Everyone’s story is unique. I listen closely and work collaboratively with each client to develop goals and a treatment plan for therapy based on their individual strengths.

  • I am authentic and real in my work with clients. Learn more.

  • I create a safe space for clients and meet them where they are at without judgment. Learn more.

  • I know how hard it can be to reach out for help. I offer kindness and compassion to clients to support them as they share their stories.
